Here's a picture of the defunct brushes that needed to be replaced in my eGo scooter. Next to it on the right is the new brush. A very small part to have such a big impact. It took almost a complete take-apart of the scooter to get to it but the scooter was extremely well made and thought out. It only took 8 bolts to take the motor out and to replace the brushes.

As you can see, the burnt out one on the left looks kind of scorched and the springs are completely shot. They still have lots of material left in the brush as you may be able to see from the lines on the side of the brush, but it wasn't up to the job. The scooter had been used for about 3 years and they lived in a hilly area in Washington, DC so it probably had to be used pretty hard.

Oh, BTW, the brushes only cost $20! Thanks to AeroWhatt, eGo scooter Guru supreme!
